Our Hand building Workshops

1

2 Day Make & Paint Workshop - 2 hours each day

A hands-on, creative experience where participants can explore the art of ceramic creation and decoration. Typically, the workshop is divided into two main parts:

1Day:Making the Ceramics

- Participants begin by shaping their own ceramic pieces, such as mugs, bowls, plates, or decorative items. They use various techniques like hand-building (pinching, coiling, or slab-building)

2Day: Painting

-Once the clay pieces have been shaped and dried, participants move on to painting and decorating their ceramics. This phase involves applying  underglazes, or ceramic paints to the pieces. Attendees can explore different techniques like brushwork, stencil work, or even layering multiple colors to achieve texture and depth. Instructors may also demonstrate how to create unique patterns, textures, or themes based on individual style or preference.

Firing your pieces

After the workshop, the ceramics usually need to be fired in a kiln, a process that may take a few days. Some workshops include this firing step, while others may ask participants to return later to collect their finished pieces. These workshops are ideal for people of all skill levels—whether you're a beginner exploring your creative side or someone with more experience looking to refine your craft. They’re often fun, social events and can be a great way to unwind, connect with others, and produce personalized, handmade items.
